Please adopt a zero-tolerance approach to petty crime, including shoplifting. This growing problem is undermining our communities, and if we want a content, constructive and purposeful society, we need consistent enforcement against this kind of abhorrent behaviour.
Adopt a zero-tolerance approach to shoplifting. Allow shopping centres to employ licensed security staff who are authorised to report thieves using camera images, and ban face coverings in shopping areas to help with identification. Other practical suggestions to deter retail theft would also be welcome.
